It is important to be aware that the tiniest particles of laundry detergent remain in fabrics even after the final rinse cycle.  When clothing is worn, these particles of detergent can be released through perspiration or mechanical abrasion and this in turn can cause skin irritation.

Special care should be taken when handling powder laundry detergent, for example when loading the washing machine, as this can irritate the lungs, especially in persons with bronchial hyperactivity. For this reaon, "Calisan" is produced in liquid form.

Use only liquid laundry detergents and cleaning products which are exempt from irritating additives:

  • no enzymes
  • no dyes
  • no fragrance
  • no bleach
  • no colour enhancers

Avoid fabric softeners as most of these contain the enzyme "cellulase" and the product remains in the fabric after rinsing.

«Calisan» products contain a minimal amount of preservatives  (Benzisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone). These are declared on the Calisan packaging, so that allergy-sufferers are fully informed over and above the current legal requirements for declaration.
